I am happy to announce that my ABC’s of Veggies coloring book and my mini-canvas companion plant prints are available in the farm shop at Gorman Heritage Farm! 

I had no idea this gem of a farm was tucked away in the suburbs of Cincinnati, especially since they have so many wonderful programs taking place on their farm.  They sell fresh foods grown from the farm’s land, provide plots of land for locals to rent, have a fresh cut flower subscription where subscribers can harvest their own bouquets, hold educational children’s and adult’s classes, host seasonal festivals… and best of all, the barn house on the property was built in the 1830s! (That’s pre civil-war architecture to all of the non-history buffs out there.  In fact, it was actually just put on the list of National Historic Landmarks.)

After dropping off my first set of goods, I got to take a tour of the farm.  The grounds were beautiful, the animals were happy, the crops were growing well, the buildings had character, and the people who I met were all very friendly and genuinely loved being a part of this farm.

This is a small garden where they hold some children’s education classes.  In the background under the arches, the beautiful flower garden waits for someone to stop by and make a bouquet.

These are plots of land rented out to local farmers and gardeners.  Right in the middle of the photo is a trellis on which some volunteer hops are growing for a local man’s home brewing hobby.

Here is the headquarters of the farm.  Here, you can check in and absorb all of the history of the farm, view maps of the grounds, visit classrooms, and look around the farm’s shop!

The farm shop is filled with wholesome foods from their land like fresh grown produce, ethically raised livestock, and honey from their bees and partner apiaries that they work with.  Besides food, the shelves are stocked with Gorman t-shirts, Charley Harper posters made specifically for Gorman, and locally (and even some globally) handmade art and crafts goods.  It’s everything you could possibly want out of such a lovely farm shop, and I’m so glad I am able to be a part of it.
