I find inspiration in life, joy, and whimsy.  I want to make my viewers smile.  The focus of my work has a broad reach, including observation of folklore and eccentric aspects of culture, admiration of the wonders of nature, and reflecting on the world around me.  My work uses a precise and considered rhetoric that allows my audience to find beauty and meaning on multiple levels of observation.  Whether it is through detailed paintings, cheerful illustrations, commissioned design work, or community art lessons, I hope to create appreciation for our curious and wonderful world.
